REGISTRATION

you can sign up with any username you want to have, but once you decide on your characters name, please change your display name. sure, this can realistically wait until you are approved or post your application, but if you plan on filling out the app before posting it, then please change your name accordingly and make sure that your display name is all lowercase letters and your full character name. please do not put punctuation in your display name. as for how many characters you can have, you can have as many as you'd like, but the staffers all ask if you can keep your character genders in ratio, so we won't have to put a ban on a certain gender.
APPLYING 101
a p p l i c a t i o n s
on the note of applying, please post your application within a week tops of registering and please post it within the application board and not any of the sub-boards. we'll move you to the appropriate one after acceptance. also, please fill out the application carefully and do not change the code. we don't allow scene queens as play bys here. we'd also like for people to use people as play bys, and not drawn characters. no anime allowed. since we're using people, there is one short thing that the staffers ask for. and that is don't try and pass off your character as 22 if the play by is over 50, and vice versa. try and make the play by as close to your character age as possible.
GRAPHICS NOTICE

we would love everyone on this site (and by love, i mean require) everyone to have a 220x350 avatar - the limit - and a signature of their choice, as long as it does not exceed a width of 500 pixels. the banner can be any size height though. if you can't make graphics, there is a graphics board where you can request some and people are always willing to oblige. if you can't get someone on here to do it, go to a site such as CAUTION. you have to join, but it's worth it for all the graphics you can get as well as help with anything else.
ACTIVITY LEVELS

we will not be posting activity checks weekly, though there will be one every two months for example. we would like for people to at least log on daily to keep the site looking active - even if it's just to check your character pm's or post an absense. you don't have to post a roleplay post everyday if you're busy, but you can post in the ooc boards, which requires not even a sentence for most of the games. people who do not log in for two weeks will most likely be deleted, along with their character(s). the rules word for your application is 'grass.' you may have as many characters as you can handle, but if you choose to make more than one, try to make one boy for every two girl characters you have or vice versa.
ROLEPLAYING 101

we know everyone has a bad day every now and then, but we have a preferred posting minimum of 200 words a post, and that's not really that big of a task. it's not even two fully detailed paragraphs. the staff will be paying attention to those who consistently do not make the word minimum, and if we catch this, we will talk to you and maybe warn your account if it carries on. we are an intermediate to advanced role play site, so try to keep on par with the minimum.
THE OTHER RULES

this is a harry potter roleplay, so magic is allowed, for obvious reasons. but please try to avoid any arguments over who is more powerful and such. no god mods whether it be regular or with the use of magic. it can be just rude. we don't want to see a mary sue or gary stu around here either. also, if you're going to use the site ICC, please do not go too far beyond what is in the threads. if you do by accident, please make sure to thread all of it out. thank you and enjoy your time here!© the layout is copyrighted to bethers is a badger ?! of caution.
